After 11 hours of physical and mental labor, I'm back, and I've seen a few thousand people on bikes.  My one greatest observation is that of the Bar Hoppers.  I don't have a problem with people legally drinking alcohol, but isn't it obvious to these people that they have to ride a bike drunk!!!!  Anyway, there were several scantily clad riders.  (Both women AND men)  As these people's blood alcohol content climbed, so did their bad judgement.  I am aware that that is common knowledge, but they were hitting on every member of the opposite sex that caught there eye.  And these victims became uglier, fatter, more desperate, and more perverted as the day went on.  They were even hitting on the innocent juveniles populating our small town.  These kids saw things that shouldn't be legal for people under the age of 18.  Coming to our small town and hitting on our citizens is only slightly less disturbing than hitting on the Amish.  There were actually 2 state troopers who followed RAGBRAI around to keep tabs on the bar hoppers.  But all in all it was fun, and I met some cool people.  And the coffee shop made a huge profit, so we're going out to dinner to celebrate.   I want to do a ragbrai sometime, just to say I've done it.
